The most popular visitor destination of all, Edinburgh Castle [below left] is a
25 minute walk from our central location. This famous castle dominates the
Old and New Towns of Edinburgh and gives stunning views of the city and
countryside. St Margaret's chapel; Mons Meg siege cannon; the Great Hall; the magnificently
restored Laich Hall and the national War Museum of Scotland are here together with
the highly acclaimed "Honours of the Kingdom" exhibition which traces the history of
Scotland's Crown Jewels and displays both the Scottish Regalia and the Stone of Destiny.
From Edinburgh castle to The Palace of Holyroodhouse, The Royal Mile is a sequence
of streets running down the rocky ridge on which medieval 'Old town' of

of the hotel.
Situated only 15 minutes walk from the Royal Mile, Dynamic earth [above centre] is
an amazing adventure. A fabulous journey that takes visitors from the very beginning
of time into the unknown future of our planet earth. Be shaken by earthquakes, face
boiling lava, fly over freezing ice flows or get caught in a tropical storm. This experience
of a lifetime is popular with visitors of all ages, and being only 30 minutes walk from the
hotel through tree lined streets, past Queen Mary's Bath House [above, second from
right] and the Palace of Holyroodhouse it's well worth a visit.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse is perhaps best known as the home of Mary Queen of
Scots and was the setting for the many dramatic episodes in her short and turbulent
reign. Mary was twice married in the Abbey at Holyroodhouse and witnessed the brutal
murder of her secretary Rizzio in her private apartments.
